Adobe Connect Meeting Application Crashes while Screen Sharing

The Adobe Connect Meeting Application for Windows clients version 2024.4,729.64h may crash during screen-sharing. We recommend updating to 2024.6.,22.64h.

Affected Version

This is a known issue addressed in the new Adobe Connect Meeting application released on June 14th 2024.

Recommended Update

If for any reason you cannot upgrade the Adobe Connect Meeting Application to 2024,6.,22,64h, there is an easy workaround to prevent this issue in the meantime.

Open the Adobe Connect Meeting Application and Press Ctrl+Shift+Q

The last two settings in the Configuration panel, Enable Smart Screen Share and Enable DirectX Screen Share are enabled by default; to prevent the crashing, disable these two settings by unchecking them as shown below.

Click OK

The upgrade is recommended. By using this workaround to disabled these options, there are some improvements that will be missing. Among them:

  • Smart Cropping when an individual window or application is shared. 
  • Sharing of the window or application when hidden.
  • Yellow border around shared screen/window for user privacy (seeing which part of the screen is shared). 
  • CPU usage improvements.
  • An issue rendering a black palette for subscribers in recordings

If you use this workaround, be sure to enable the Smart screen share and DirectX screen share before upgrading the application. These settings are sticky and with the update, you will want all features and improvements enabled.
