Adobe Connect Service Startup Failure After Connect 11.2 upgrade

This is applicable to on-premise environments being upgraded to Connect server version 11.2.

Post installing the Adobe Connect 11.2 on the Connect server, it may be observed the Connect service fails to start.

Following exception might be revealed in the Connect server error log :

org.xml.sax.SAXParseException “character ‘©’ not allowed”

Solution :

The character ‘©’ (the copyright symbol) appears twice in the file /appserv/apps/system/system_template.xsl, on lines 107 and 178, which results in throwing an org.xml.sax.SAXParseException “character not allowed” and causing the Adobe Connect service to crash.

• Edit this file and change each of these two instances of ‘©’ to the escape code © (which is how it appears in the Connect 11.0 version of this file).

• Recycle the Connect services post the change.

Post this Connect service should be able to start without an issue.
