The University of Cape Town (UCT) is hardly isolated from its global research and education peers. The university easily shares clinical knowledge and insight with any web-enabled device through the combination of video, chat, and presentation tools in Adobe Connect.
UCT’s goal is to become the academic hub that links South Africa to the rest of Africa and the world. Adobe partners Dax Data and Learning Curve helped implement Adobe Connect at UCT’s Division of Pediatric Surgery, where it is being used to aid research, clinical, and educational collaboration.
“Adobe Connect has made it possible to conduct real-time discussions on clinical topics, ranging from the latest surgical techniques to research and advances in diagnostics, endoscopy, and minimal invasive surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, and more,” says Alp Numanoglu, Professor and Head of Pediatric Surgery, UCT.
The university selected Adobe Connect as its web conferencing application and training system, enabling significant control over event creation, such as customizable event microsites, landing pages, and registration options.
