Private Chat from Participants to Meeting Hosts is One-way Traffic

Adobe Connect Meeting Participants may send private chat messages to Hosts using the Meeting Chat pod.

The Host is able to respond privately, but not from the Hosts chat option; any response sent by the Hosts from within the segregated Hosts chat option are not visible to any participants. This is a one-way communication channel; it was not intended to be two-way. This can be confusing to the Host who may think that a reply is going to the Participant. The host must toggle to the correct response target audience:

When the Meeting participant sends a private message to the Meeting host, the message is sent to Hosts. Only Hosts can see messages in the Host chat. For a Host to send private chat messages to a participant it must be done outside the Host chat by selecting an attendee option from the Chat pod tab.
Similarly, for the Presenter chat option, the attendees with Presenter or Host rights can see the messages but not the attendees.
For the Host/Presenter to reply to the participant, they need to send a message in the channel which the participants can read; either send a private chat message to that participant directly or send the message to the Everyone chat channel.
There is a feature request under deliberation that would add a small message informing the Host that messages segregated in Host chat are only visible to Hosts. This message might be triggered by one-way communication sent from a participant to a Host. This would eliminate confusion that a message sent by the Host within the Host chat might be visible to a participant.
To simplify this workflow immediately, Hosts may upload the Custom Chat Plus pod by clicking the Meeting Pods Menu and choosing Custom Pods; use Chat Plus instead of the regular Meeting Chat Pod:
