Audio, Camera Streams & Screen-sharing in Adobe Connect using the Edge Browser
Issue:
Beginning on March 13, 2026, Microsoft Edge browser users who are on IT-managed computers and have upgraded to the latest version of Edge, may have started having problems with audio, camera streams, and screen-sharing in Adobe Connect meetings. This is due to the recent change with the autoplay policy that may be set by the organization and how it maps to the settings in the latest version of Edge. This Edge-specific change (beginning in Edge 145), sets the meaning of the ‘Disabled’ autoplay policy from “Limit” to “Block” in the browser (previously Edge versions 92-144 had the Disabled policy mapped to “Limit”). For users on Edge browser version 145+ and running in a managed environment where the IT department has the AutoplayAllowed policy set to “Disabled”, this may cause an issue for the client in Adobe Connect Meetings.
Previous versions of Edge in this scenario, essentially had the policy mapped to “Limit”, (which meant muted autoplay was allowed and audio requires interaction). This previous scenario was permissive enough for WebRTC streams (Connect Meeting audio and video) to work properly. Now, it means the setting is mapped to full “Block”, and your calls made to fetch the audio streams from other clients, are being rejected.
This only specifically affects users on managed Edge deployments where their organization has the AutoplayAllowed policy set to Disabled.
The immediate options for remediation:
1. Recommend the IT team add your specific Connect domain (URL) to the AutoplayAllowlist policy. This lets you define a list of sites based on URL patterns that are always allowed to autoplay media. Microsoft Article Here
2. For enterprise deployments, admins can also set AutoplayAllowed to “Not configured” instead of “Disabled” to give users control.
3. Use another browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) or the Adobe Connect Meeting Application (Download Here).
If the user has permission to edit the policy or allow-list on Edge themselves, they can do the following:
Workaround — Whitelist the Adobe Connect URL
—————————————
1. Open Edge and navigate to edge://settings/content/mediaAutoplay
2. Under the “Allow” section, click “Add”
3. Enter the Connect meeting URL (e.g., https://<your-connect-domain>)
4. Click “Add”
5. Reload the meeting room in the browser

Note: If the policy is enforced via group policy (managed by IT), the user may not be able to modify these settings. In that case, the IT administrator will need to add the Connect URL to the AutoplayAllowlist policy or change the policy settings.
The Connect team is actively working on product-side improvements that will address this issue.
